In the 18th century when Florida was in the transition of switching nationalities from being Spanish to becoming British. The English King was handing out huge grants of land to wealthy people. With a lot of acres at his disposal, a wealthy Englishman, by the name of Denys Rolle, had an idea of an "ideal society."

His Idea:

Many outcasts of the English life came to America seeking a new start. Denys wanted to take the outcasts of the English people, street walkers, pickpockets, and paupers for instance.
